Tow trucks  back in the day  Didnt have any standard light bars.

The most common were old headlights mounted on a bar. or a stout timber 4 X 4. ( sort of like a roll bar. )

The headlights would either have red or amber lenses  and somtimes were left with clear lenses. ( so you could see at night ...   like spotlights . )

But there are examples out there that had the red "bubblegum machine " type.

so in the end whatever you choose  will be prototipical.

If you go the headlight route may I suggest headlights from an old ford ( say 1920's to 1929 )

love what youve done. the gold on black is classic.

Dont worry about the thumbprint, paint it Rust , and call it "Battle Damage"

I elected cto use bumperettes in the back because there must be room for the cars as they are towed. The fact they look cool is a bonus!

That turned out great! I have one suggestion; tow trucks have light bars on the roof; maybe a gumdrop one like the old cop cars?

i used the headlights from the MPC Chrysler because I used the Caddy headlights on the Hubley Packard project.I used thin aluminum tubing to make the headlight brackets.

I painted the body and hood Tamiya Gold Leaf. The plan is to use vinyl letters and numbers as negative masks ,which will create markings after the body is sprayed black and the stickers are carefully peeled off,Good method i have used in the past.

Despite the fact the fenders were molded in black,I still primered and painted them as well as the roof.
