1978 Dodge Lil Red Express Truck

This is my rebuilt '78 Lil Red Express painted with Model Master Chrysler Engine Red.  I originally built this LRE back in 2006.

Hello Mr. Mike!

That Dodge looks really good! My only thing with it are the headlights. I think if you picked them up with some diluted white paint, they would look much better, much more like glass.

Thanks for sharing and have a nice day

Paweł

Pawel, thanks for the suggestion!  I've tried painting the headlights and I really didn't care for the look of it.  I usually just leave them unless I am taking the model to a show, then I drill  them out and put in a reflector and a lens.

Looks cool!  Would a Future coat or two help with headlights like that?

Dodge does some of the coolest special edition stuff.

Thanks,

John

Thanks John!  Putting Future over the headlights IMHO, wouldn't work...at least in my eyes.  Chrome headlights are typical of an older AMT/MPC kit.  Some of the best special edition cars and truck were definitely Mopars.

Mike !

I do this with headlights like that ( for originality ) I coat them with clear into which I have put just a teensy amount of chrome silver . Most of the time I dip the brush in silver ( just barely ) and then into the clear color on a palette .

Thanks for the tip Tanker - Builder!  I'll have to give it a try!
