Range Rover Police-British Transport Police Unit

This is my Range Rover Police in British Transport Police livery aka "a jam sandwich".  It is painted with Tamiya TS-26 Pure White with  Tamiya Light Grey interior, resin 2-way radio and a whip antenna.  The first picture is with the lightbar I prefer.  The rest are with the kit required lightbar.

Thank you guys!  It was pointed out to me that the side windows should have been mounted from the inside.  I checked the instructions and they do mount from the inside!  I had interpeted the instructions wrong, so I corrected my faux pas.  Removing the chassis and interior gave me a chance to correct another issue that was bugging me...the front of the body doesn't fit correctly over the chassis.  The dash is holding the body up, so I starting removing material from the bottom of the dash and the center console.   After a lot of grinding, sanding and cutting, I got the front of the body down far enough to satisfy me.

Thank you Bish!  The "jam sandwich" has been replaced by the "Battenberg Cake" scheme with bright fluoresent blue and yellow.  I had watched a show called "For the Love of Cars" where a Rover SD1 police car was restored and sold to the Grampian Motor Museum during auction.  It was this episode that got me interested in British police cars.

Indeed it has and while we still get white cars you also often see them in silver. I realised this yesterday when i realised i was taking more notice of the cars i saw after seeing your post.

I'll be keeping my eyes open now and seeing if i come across any of the older style.

I love police vehicles of any stripe (no pun intended), and this one is a dazzler! I've seen the blue/yellow checkerboard versions so often in UK films and TV shows that I'd forgotten about the 'jam sandwich' iteration.

Nicely done! Yes Yes Yes

Thank you gregbale!  The Battenburg Cake version is I believe to be used in many, many countries with the exception of the United States.  One thing is for sure, it does stand out!

Yes the paint scheme here in the UK, was prone to be called the 'Jam Sandwich'!

As gregbale says the present one is called the Battenburg!

Remember , common sense is not common.
