This was a really nice kit.  Great detail, great fit.  Any issues with the kit were my fault.  Anyhow - here's a few shots of the build and the final really cool AF/X drag car.

Alclad Aluminum block, steel headers

Working on faded red interior and the motor.  First time trying Tamiya smoke on the chrome - really like the effect

Coming along

Wheels on - big mile stone

A few decals and a test body fit

And here she is done and done

Great Kit -only issue was the super brittle decals... I was able to work most of them but a few went in the trash

Highly recommend.  Really nice kit.

Thanks,

John

Really superb work!

I can remember seeing Arnie 'the Farmer' Beswick in several of his Hemi-chewing Pontiacs at Chicago-area dragstrips back in the '60s. This is a great salute to one of the 'classic' drag racers, still going strong when last I heard!

Thanks for sharing it. YesBeer

Thanks guys.  Greg that must have been awesome!  I see a few A/FX cars out here at Barona - 1/8 mile.  They are my favorite drag cars for sure.

Thanks,

John

Nice build. I think that I built an AMT version of that car back in the 1960's. I love the big SOHC Ford engine.
