1960 Chevy Fleetside Pickup
Posted by Olezippi on Monday, November 29, 2021 6:17 AM

This is the AMT 1960 Chevy pickup that I finished a few months ago.  Had a few bumps along the way but all in all things went pretty good. It's setting a little higher than I would have liked but I think it turned out ok.  The paint is Tamiya TS-10 cleared with TS-13.  I used the wheels & tires out of the Revell 1956 Ford pickup Foose addition.         I had trouble with the bmf not wanting to stick and it was a job getting it to look exceptable for me.

I like it ! But you're pushing my envelope of acceptable years lol !!!! Ya I like the older vehicles and classics from the true classic era. But that doesn't take away from workmanship, I always appreciate that regardless what anyone posts here.

I appriciate the kind word.  I'm the same way....I like the old fat fender cars/truck more.

I wonder when the original release was on this kit. I remember building a Chevy pickup with the eyebrows hood when I was a kid. I would have been 10 in 1960. But I'm thinking it was a long bed.

I built a Ford of about the same vintage as well.

Not sure on the release date.  I also have the Revell 1966 Chevy Fleetside pickup in my stash to build.

Your Chevy truck turned out great!  My dad drove nothing but Chevy trucks while I was growning up.  I also had quite a few until starting the family and then my days of driving a minivan took over.  Love the colors and that truck bed looks so realistic.  Do the wheels turn out of the box or did you modify them?  I'm also with you regarding the fat fenders and miles and miles of chrome on the old classics!

Thank's TJS.  I robbed the wheels & tires from the Revell 1956 Ford truck (Foose).
