This thing is shaping up nicely ! I've always liked the 57 Chrysler lineup ( Chrysler, Dodges and Plymouths). My dad had a 57 Dodge Custom Royal hardtop in red and white. At 12-13yo,  I used to wash it for him and he would let me turn the car around in the driveway. Your Chrysler is reminding me of these things. One day he came home with what was thought to be a broken torsion bar though. Turned out where the torsion bar mounted to the frame broke out. He had it welded, drove the car a bit longer and traded it in. I think there was a short stint with a 60 Corvair, then he got the 63 Pontiac Bonneville 2 door hardtop.. I got my license on that car.

I remember as a Kid my family had a 59 Dodge Royal Lancer that had. A two tone blue exterior with a white roof!I loved the rocket tail lights and loud turn signals!

Oh no ! My dad tried that with his 50 Olds 88,drag racing from a light on Park Ave, He plowed it straight into the side of a Jewish lawyers Packard that was making a U turn ! Dad viewed himself behind the wheel as a combo of Joey Chitwood Hell driver and New York City cab driver wrapped up into one. And he drove like it in those years. He did tame out eventually. I;ll just say that the 35 mile ride to grand ma's house was not your average Sunday ride. Mostly your stomach was in your throat, to him every car on the road was a challenge to beat.A conquest worth take up.

I like your attitude!

Oppsies indeed! Neat turn of phrase. Because in reality only you will notice, so there;s no OOPS? there, Right? Besides I hark back to the day mom came home very disheveled and pissed. Seems the Royal Lancer didn't have enough engine for her foot. Blew the engine and Got a ticket as well!!!

I thought for sure my Dads Custom Royal blew it's engine but he said no. So much oil smoke it was crazy. But he took it in to a garage and they cleaned the top side of the heads under the valve covers and blew out the oil return passages and all was well again. No more smoke.

Different engine than the Custom Lancer I believe, it was non hemi, Something on the order of 320 ci, 4bbl carb and dual exhaust. I remember it had a heck of a hole shot from traffic lights. Impressive for such a big car.

I think I will make a custom exhaust because the kit supplied pipes interfere with the torsion bars ...I am thinking of using solder.

Gene!

Is that the Jo-Han Kit. Cause yeah, the exhaust can't be run without some surgery.
