Stalingrad Factory ruins unfinished
Posted by Nick Nasta on Wednesday, May 6, 2009 8:43 PM

Hello everyone! It's been a while since I posted, I've been working on another detailed diorama. The Stalingrad factory is not finished and the figures are for show. I have 4 boxes of figures which will go with this diorama. I just started taking them out of the MasterBox boxes. Let me know what you think. Thanks

Amazing! Very well done- I really like the folded/bent up metal door

The only thing I could say, and this might be the lighting? But the rust looks a little roo red/not enough orange?? Just my My 2 cents [2c]- but this is really awesome!

Thanks guys!

Are you talking about the rust on the tin siding on the front?

If so, that rust look is not finished/weathered yet.

I'M FINISHED!
My Stalingrad Factory is finally finished and getting ready to be shipped to Wisconsin.
My strong point is scratch building but my weak point is assembling and painting the figures.
Let me know what you think.
Thanks for your support!

Wow!! The factory building ruins, just by themselves, look so cool! And then the soldiers--their positions, their body language--all combine to tell a vivid, hard-hitting, desperate story.

Words fail me. This piece of work is just unbelieveable in its attention to emotional nuances and the small details which make it look as though you are seeing a glimpse of real life.

I especially loved the interior of the factory, with the fighting happening on two levels: the ground floor and the upper-level catwalk.

Thanks 98210, Tiki and Stern0 for your kind words. I appreciate it.

This diorama took me a couple of months and many hours per day to complete. I am happy at the way it came out. Actually I'd like to keep it instead of sending it to its new owner but its already paid for. LOL.

I had three other figures that were meant for this diorama but I didn't want to squeeze them in just because I had 'em. I also like the sky pics, especially the one pic with the pipe dripping water. That's cool :-)     Thanks again guys.

Wow, that's impressive!  There's a lot going on in that scene.  Very fine attention to detail.

How did you make the blood?
