My first jump (and many thereafter) was from 172 "711T" from St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands in the '70s. She was red with white trim, with no "spats" on the gear. Flew many an hour around the islands in the right seat of that bird, too.

Just tuned in and WOW! What a masterful and beautiful 172. You have done a superb job of construction and detailing. Really impressive.
Certainly brings back some wonderful memories for me. Spent countless hours in one of these when I was young and my father piloting scenic flights and shuttles all over southern Utah. Thank You so much for sharing your build and skills with us.

Well, now, this is absolutely amazing. Been waiting for you to post finished pics of this beauty. Really really nice work. Pardon your skill level for such a complicated kit??? Please...your skills in completing THIS complicated kit are way way beyond most of ours!! Congratulations! You have a wonderful build that you should be very prooud of. Looks beautiful.
Okay, all done. It’s not totally accurate as it’s a 70’s Model 172 but I used a paint scheme using Arctic Decals of an updated 172 that looks to be currently in a hanger somewhere in Japan, based on the N number. So please pardon my low skill level with a complicated kit.

It looks just like a 172. Very nice!
After weeks of work travel and some family medical (all good now) issues to deal with, I can finally get back to it. Decals are on, wings on. I did minor damage to a couple decals but I’ll just mix a little paint and take a fine tip brush to it. Easy fix. Just control surfaces, prop, rear windows and front windscreen and we’ll be done.

Back home for a few days before taking a short vacation. Got the mains on, main wing is drying. Hoping to get a lot done tomorrow. Nose weight is going to be really close. Once the wing is on I should be able to figure out how much more is needed. One pic tonight, more tomorrow.

Fuselage closed up. Alignment was tough and did require filler for the seam on top and bottom, but it came out okay. Engine and firewall mounted along with the instrument panel. Working on the slightly warped main wings now. Getting close. Chris
Getting there. I need to add belts to the rear seat and I’m going to toss some bags into the rear area instead if the seat. I’m not sure if I have enough weight but I’ll be able to add more through the door after I close it up.
