I haven't built a airliner in some time .I received this form Hannants last week.
I will start it with in the next few days alittle break from the military stuff.
Nick.
I will be following.
Me too. Cool!
I had a vac model once, but I was discouraged by the quality and sold it unbuilt.
Roden is producing some good airliner kits.
Modeling is an excuse to buy books.
That’s a sleek looking airplane. And BOAC livery looks good on everything!
“Ya ya ya, unicorn papoi!”
knox I will be following.
Me too! Please post early a quick review of the kit- I have found the quality of Roden airliners varies. Last one I built, the B307, was great!

its been on my bucket list for a while. The kit has some nice pannel lines. The plastic is soft , i did some test fitting the flash (theres quite a bit) cut off easy. I hope its not disappointing... pics to follow.
Oh Nice;
I'll be following this.
test fit wings and stabilzers some clean up with #0000 steel wool.
crown r n7 test fit wings and stabilzers some clean up with #0000 steel wool.
"No matter the size of the workbench, the available modeling area will always be exactly two square feet".
Nice work.
yeah. I like to have every thing in reach untill I need to change color paint.
Looking good!
It looks like an airliner already, Nick!
B.O.A.C. Wow, talk about a blast from the past.

Yeah, I noticed that too. Their VC-10 has very fine detail all over the place, while the C-141 looks like the old Aurora kit! Okay the Starlifter is not an airliner, but it is the same scale, so I was expecting the same level of detail.
many thanks gents.. progress has been very slow, but the latest pics.
lower part of fuselage painted and most of the decal work done. Time for tamiya gloss clear and some weathering..
Oh My !
Now those are some fine looking Decals on there. That's always been my weak point.
TB. thank you . The decals are from Boa decals from the Czech Republic. These decals are very good but not for the inexperienced . They do go on nicely and works very well with micro set/sol. I was sweating bullets when applying the red and blue trim !
What a beauty! Comming along very nicely.
Thanks,
John
John. Thankyou I sealed decals with Tamiya clear gloss and drying time.
Neat!

Jeaton01. Thankyou moving along. the wings are attached pretty much done for the day. I will start on tiny landing gear.
All decals are on , sealed with tamiya gloss clear. I gave an over all pin wash. Those tiny landing gear are in place, will start the staining process in a bit.
Thought I'd already chipped in here, but it must have been a 'senior moment!'
Your build is absolutely gorgeous! I love the aircraft, really love the colorful Cubana livery, and your handling of the always-challenging white uppers looks flawless. A cracking build, all the way around!

Greg. many thanks for stopping by. These airliners are cars with wings, in other words I paint them in the same way I paint car bodies and lots of pratice...
test fit props.
I used the flight deck wind sheild decals due to damage by me!!! in removing liquid mask several times even with a tooth pick and it still mared the glass.. oh well . test fit some more , some very light streaking and exhaust stains .
latest pics.
My latest pics..
I drove by MIA on the 836 express way, BTW that was a crazy busy day at the airport. I think the airliner bug bit me . Lets see how far it goes. Well this one is almost done some detailing left to do.
This one is done.
Roden Bristol 175 Britannia 318 in 1/144.
decals BOA#17793 Cubana de Aviacion.
Paint tamiya gloss and pannel wash.
This was the 1st turbo prop in latin America 11/24/1958.
