i am not done yet but I wanted to post my progress.  I went. with German Uniform green  Duh! on the Tunic and Luffwaffe Uniform on the trousers.  I styaed with my Burnt Umber washed for shadowing. I still need to paint in some more shadows and highlights and add details but here he is:

I can not give you any critiques and I can not think of any new complements to give you, so I will just revert back to saying that your figure painting are nothing short of amazing!!!!

Can not wait too see the final details, Jim.

Hey Manny,

Yes I really like the Alpine set's and the Ultra cast heads are just incredably detailed. I beleive that is half the battle on figures starting with quuality resin figures.  I really like the Tank figures as well but unless the 70's were more harmful to me than I remember they seem more like 1\32 scale than 1\35 but maybe it's just hurs staring through a magnifier.  Big Smile [:D]

Do you have any suggestions on which direction to go on the uniform colors?  I am just going o jump in but I am hestiant to get it wrong on such a nice $$ figure, but hey that's why they call it a learning curve!  Smile,Wink, & Grin [swg]

I use Humbrol enamels...their field-grey is an excellent matcg for the German color of the same name...

Thanks Man! I don't know I am 43 and I am really impressed by the fact that I didn't mess this guy up!

Here is a shot of what it's looking like now.  I just have to paint Insiginia markings, buttons, and such and then he is done.

Thanks Tom,

Understood about Humbrol.  I hane not invested in any of their pants yet but hear nothing but good about them.  I am happy!  It turned out far better thaen I had anticipated but I also see room for lots of improvement.

Very true.  I am my own worst critic that's for sure.  Thanks again for your support. I should get him completed this evening.

Hi Everyone,

I was able to finish the final details on the figure tonight and I feel like I accomplished my goals for this WIP.  I feel more comfortable with painting faces and uniform and equipment colors.

Thank you to everyone that stopped by for a peek and the people who posted commentary and suggestions it is appreciated!

Here are some final pics and again thanks for the support.

He's really something, Edmund.  You are fast becoming my figure guru, particularly since you always find time to share and teach.

That is a model in itself, it looks very well done from every angle you shot.  I hope to progress in any factor of what you have shown.  Keep up the fantastic work.

Thanks Bill that means a lot!  Gratitude goes forward that's for sure.  You will not regret taking the steps to get past your unfamiliarity with painting figures it is worth it and very rewarding.  I want to paint more right now!!  Smile,Wink, & Grin [swg]
