Laugh [(-D] ....Actually, the very point at which I noticed it, I was trying to put the M4 in the right hand and it just wouldn't fit. THEN ... I looked at the box art. Made for a nice "smack in the forehead" moment ... DOOO!!

no molds...even with the company out of business...hmmmm...that's not like you scott. what gives?? i have to totally agree with you that it must be a one of a kind being left handed!!! what made me notice it was his pistol was on the opposite leg then it got me to really "looking at it" and yeah...its left handed!! i just find it weird since i was just noticing the "hand" on mine. pretty cool though.

AND WE HAVE A WINNER!!!! I was wondering when someone was going to notice that. AND it IS funny b/c I didn't even notice it until I was right in the middle of test fitting all the pieces. Everything was going/ fitting together smoothly, but there was something that just didn't seem right about it ... and I just couldn't put my finger on it.

It's a nice change of pace ..... doing a lefty, doing a stand-alone figure in 1/35. I broke my own rule on this one though .... no molds or casts were made. (Kicking self in tail ....) this one might just be a one of a kind .... even build OOB!

you know that's funny scott, i was just noticing this the other day and now i noticed it with this figure...although its the opposite, all my figures are molded as right handed...this is the first that i've ever seen molded left handed. i never thought they did that!! i dont know just funny since i noticed that is all. figured everything was right handed. interesting.

This figure is actually one of the better OOB that I've seen. Armorama has a couple of in-box reviews for other Think180 figures, and others have the same rave for their figures. Just wish they were still available. Don-know .... Jeff Meckley is on Armorama ... maybe we shoudl ask'm!?!

Think180 Studios - 1/35 Navy SEAL (COMPLETE 26AUG09)

This is a new piece that I started the other day while needing a break from my other builds. Its a 1/35 US Navy SEAL, #35007, from (now debunked ... I think) THINK180 Studios and sculpted by Jeff Meckley. The package says US Navy SEAL #1, which makes me think that they had more figures in mind. After starting this one up, I find myself wishing they had produced more. I got this kit from a model show that I went to here in Houston a few months back. I think I paid $10 for it. Not bad at all.

Cast in white resin, the figure was pretty clean right out of the package. Not too much to clean up. Although the white resin did make the figure a little hard to see. Priming the figure before painting made all the difference. In putting the figure together, I used my normal pin/ wire-in-joint maethod.

And b/c this is just one, stand along figure, there's really not too much else to say about this one. I got the flesh started and completed this morning. I'll be starting in on the uniform this afternoon (as I'm painting my MH-6 pilots at the same time.)

Base coat of flesh...

Dark washes of burnt sienna ...

Some blending w/ warm flesh tone ...

And lastly, highlights added ....

This will be one of, hopefully, 4-5 pieces that I plan on taking to a show next month. I plan on placing this one on a small wooden base, using a Navy SEAL challenge coin as a "name plate".

As always, any C&C welcome. Thanks for checking this one out.

**Edit ... GOOD LORD, these pictures make the paint job look horrible!!!
