'Mansteins revenge',

Fine work there. You say you painted him in oils/enamels and that for the wash, "raw umber is my friend".

I have a question if you don't mind. Do you "wash" with an acrylic? If so, what do you dilute it with?

I have seen some people write that they dilute with water, others with alcohol because it evaporates quicker.

I have begun to try and put some more effort into figures (beyond painting the faces with Testors Flat Light Tan and calling them done) and have purchased a set of Tamiya 1/35 for practice.

I did a mix of about 30/70 acrylic/water and to be honest, while some of it looks OK, more of it looks like a dirty water stain. Perhaps I put too much on.

Do you wash in a number of light increments?

Any help you could offer would be greatly appreciated.

Regards, PWB.
