SS Camo, whats the best technique?
Posted by gjw on Saturday, December 29, 2012 3:09 AM

I find it rather hard to simply even get the camo righ.t I always apply two colors in odd oval shapes on the smock and apply dots but I can never get it to look right. Also what types of paint is best oil based or water based? I am new to the site and any help would be appreciated. Thx!!!

Here's a few pics of a smock I have showing the SS 5/6 Spring/Fall pattern and a reversable fall/white parka from when I was doing WW-II re-enacting. These are great to use as a guide. I use the MM paints starting from light to black. As I had washed my smock, it does fade over time so you might take that into consideration too. Hopes this helps out some.
