Looks good. My only comment would be that they all have a very wide eyed appearance. Almost as if they all simultaneously involuntarily evacuated their bowels. J/K!

Also, Carius never had Tiger #007. Michael Wittman did.

Sometimes its OK not to paint in the eyes on 1/35th scale figures. Beautiful work on the uniforms.

I agree...don't try to paint the whites of eyes in 1/35th scale...again, Carius fought exclusively on the Eastern front in Tiger Abt 502 and was not SS...

I disagree on not painting eyes on 1/35 figures.  You can do it, but have to remember to shape them onto slits and not big, round google eyes.  The method that works for me is to use the cross technique.  First put a thin, horizontal white line across the eyes. Next, cross it with a thin brown or blue line vertically for the iris.  Lastly, shape the eye into an oval slit with some flesh colored paint.  Do all this with a very fine OOO brush or smaller.

good point, but i didn't say that you shouldn't paint the eyes at all---just not the whites of the eyes...in this scale you can get good effect with just the slits and pupil areas, although I have seen on rare occasions people who can pull off painting the whites in (rarely) --- like Lewis Preneau, etc...

It wasn't directed at you.  Just responding with my opinion.  Sic Semper did state that above though.

I think white is too white... should be a touch more pink. Unless you are painting a female.

good point, that is why most do not paint the whites in but let the flesh color represent the white area...

Hi Tuk...nice work on the figures' uniforms. As for the eyes, everyone here have different methods to tackle a difficult task. I usually paint the whites, but always add a wash to shadow the upper and lower eyelids:

Many thanks for your kind comments. I don't have Tiger #217 so I borrowed # 007 from Wittmann to complement the figure set (how could you show tank crew without a tank?). As for painting the eyes of figures, I think it depends on the modeler. "Art Instructor" usually didn't paint them in the past but he did later on. "Tuk" painted the eyes of this set not so good, but I think he did a very good job in another set. This one :

Sorry I miscommunicated. I should have stated that it was OK not to paint in the pupils on 1/35 figs. Its a matter of personal taste and some are very good at it. I however am not.

Gino, that is EXACTLY the method I use when painting my eyes! I totally agree that you can accurately portray the eyes with white! Check out my  soldier from "the Bloody Bucket"!

agreed, but the trooper in the winter reversibles looks a lot out of place standing in the desert with the Fox...
