Thanks, Guy.

I've started on the base. The base itself is made out of Yew, and has some real nice grain to it. Other than that i'm keepin' this one simple, I want the eye drawn straight to the figure and his shield, and not the base really.

Please remember that this image is magnified and sharpened and so will show up all faults no matter how small. Obviously in rectifyin' some of these faults it will only lead me to mental illness. But I can happily say that viewin' this figure with the naked eye, I am very happy with my results so far.

I don't understand... this, as with all of your figures, armor, cars, etc, are completely devoid of fault in my opinion. With every fold that I shade, I hear my inner mantra: "what would Paul do?" Not to be an a$$kisser- I just see your painting as flawless. This piece is stunning.

I'd love to see a full on dio from you some day. If you have shots of any, please forward them on.

Thanks Steve, your too kind. I have this finished now, i'm jus' havin' to dirty up the shield a little, and then its finished. Its somethin' that is quite hard to do, when you've put a lot of work into the image, only then to dirty it up.
