Found a New Ship and Catalogue
Posted by Tanker - Builder on Monday, May 9, 2016 3:39 PM

Oho !

Just have to let everyone know . I just acquired a new paper ship ! It is a model of a container ship. The ship's name is the Lisboa from OPDR . She's a whaleback bow version .The model is put out by HMV( Hamburger Modelbaubogen Verlag .)

It's in 1/250 scale , about 20 some inches long (518 mm )has 2313 pieces ( Teile ) and is on 20 sheets ( Bogen.) It's printed in Yellow ( the line's color ) with Red decks and White upperworks .She comes with some containers in simple blocks of different sizes .

There's also a ( Lazerkut ) Their spelling, detail set . The ship was 29.99 E.U. and the detail set is another 25.00 E.U.  . My friend and president of our Museum went to Germany and brought it back for me .He wasn't able to stay long enough to get the detail set and the seller does not send to the States .

I borrowed a catalogue from him that outlines all the companies . I will send for my own and he is getting a friend from Germany to recieve the detail set , and mail it to us .

That is another reason I am writing this . That is to tell you all about this catalogue . It is from Fentens Kartonmodellbau and it has some interesting stuff in it . The most interesting for a lot, is the sailing ships from an outfit called the " ShipYard " . Their models are a form of paper and balsa I believe , and it's all laser-cut at 1/96 scale !

The Aircraft and Armor is far more than I expected and some of the planes are 1/30 in scale . Many of the ships are 1/100 and 1/200 in scale too ! Their E-Mail address is www.kartenmodellbau.de . So there you have it .   T.B.
