Wow, what a beautiful build! I continue to be amazed at what the paper model builders are producing in this forum.

      Took prints of your engine to the show. Train nuts didn't want to believe it was paper! Many thought it was awesome and now are looking for the paper-kits! It was very well recieved by our Vice-President of History!. He is into that era quite heavily!

       The show seemed to go off quite nicely and I believe the gate was better then we hoped, Considering we lost two venndors to car trouble. Paper models were in evidence as buildings and small equipment!

Two days ago I started a new project, when I'm a bit further I'll start a topic over here as well.  It's not train-related though this time.

Hello chelseynelson15, thank you for your interest in my work. Sorry that I haven't answered your question sooner. 

As to how long it took me to finish the engine I started on November 10th (2020) and the engine and tender could have been called "finished" by the end of March or mid April. Then the work on the base was delayed because I started working my dayjob again (most of the work on the engine was done during lockdown).

If you are interested in starting paper- cardmodeling, I would advise you to start with a few easier models to get the hang of it.  The major difficulty for these models is not the modeling itself but the instructions that, with many publishers, are only available in Polish. Visiting paper- and cardboard modeling dedicated forums should be very helpfull as well.

I do have a comment here:

    I have found that many that have foreign( To Us) languages, in many cases do have diagrams to help. I have a neighbor who is learning Polish and Russian. Problem solved. At our Museum I have a fluent German Speaker.

    Well, he did come from the old country in his Thirties! We have a lot of fun together.I learned one way, and of course he another so we have a great middle ground for translating German.

      One imprtant thing is being able to understand othographic drawings too.
