I've decided to build my Return of the Jedi AT-ST for this group build. I chose it for a couple of reasons:
1. It is not real big, so I should be able to meet the deadline.
2. I have been eager to build an "armor" kit and this seems like a good first one to try.

I think it will be fun to try out some interesting weathering techniques. I imagine these machines get pretty grimy and dirty on the Imperial backwater worlds.

Now, if I could just figure out how to set up my web page for photo hosting...

Well, it's a fun way to actually get something built! [:0]
Anyone who's game agrees to try to finish a new kit- from bare plastic to completion- within the parameters of the build. In this case, the topic is "anything sci-fi" & you have to have it finished by the last day of February. And it's always good to post what kit you plan on building & keep the group updated on your progress, too!

So, Gundamhead, feeling spunky?? Wink [;)]

Someone should start a "sticky" sci-fi group build thread here so it stays at the top of the sci-fi forum. I'd do it but I don't know how! Help? Anyone?

Agreed!!! The end of February sounds perfect, and anything goes.

Let's have periodic updates by the participants and post "in progress" photos if you can.

Away we go!

Well, memeau, let's set a date! (err... no, not that kind! Sheesh!) Let's make it an easy one of two months. Say the end of February? Any topic as long as it's sci-fi. Big Smile [:D]

Ooo! That's one of my three! I'm heading over there for that one!

Probably not a bad idea. Let's just call a deadline & make it "anything goes"! Big Smile [:D]

A group build here would be good. There seems to be a lot of talk at various sci-fi modeling web sites about FSM's lack of coverage for Sci-Fi. Given the forum here is one of the least active ones maybe a group build could spark some interest. I would think a broad category would help gain greater participation.

Armorama has a sci-fi group build going. It just started on the 15th and ends on Valentine's Day (14 Feb). Any sci-fi kit, any type (out of box, resin, kit bash, etc.).

Edit: I am planning on building the Fourth Axis conversion for the TIE Crawler tank, but my Jedi Fighter and TIE fighter arrived from HLJ!

Well, Lord knows I have a lot of Trek. There's also a 1/144 Gundam in the mix, as well as a B5 station. I'm going to be ordering Skyhook's Planet Express from Futurama soon with my Christmas cash! Big Smile [:D] I'd be up for doing the Gundam, as I already have three projects on the bench & would love doing something small.

I hadn't thought of a topic yet because I didn't know what the other modelers have on their shelves. I have a ton of sci-fi kits just waiting to be built. I'm game for Star Trek, Star Wars, B5, Robotech/Macross, Gundam, whatever...

Has there ever been a Sci-Fi group build here? I've never seen a thread for it but several other categories have them.

Is anyone interested? Question [?]Question [?]Smile [:)]Big Smile [:D]Smile [:)]Big Smile [:D]
