For those waiting f/an up-date, this project is on hold for right now.  Waiting f/an order from China????    Working on another project until then, but will return when ready to continue.

I love these kits

Hello smeagol my friend, yes what is there not too like about them and they get down right habit forming, I keep thanking Cosmic J for this malodey I now have for the Ma.k series or which I now am building the suit you see above.  For anyone even thinking of giving one try, do yourself a favor and go for it.  They are a blast to build, but the real fun comes when time to paint, the sky is the limit.  Good to hear from ya. GM  PS:  This will be the 1st project I will use Filters and pigments on.  So alot of this is new territory for me.

Ma. K. does have some pretty good kits, just finished a couple myself (why I haven't been doing Gundams lately...). The two I finished were the new ones from Hasagawa--the 1/20th Falke, and the 1/48th Lunadiver Stingray, which incidentally, came with two S.A.F.S. suits similar to yours, G.M.

They truly are a blast to build, and a great platform for testing new techniques and unique paintschemes.

Wonder what yours will look like, G.M. Hmm

Keep up the great work...as always.

I would second that motion.  Any others like too, hey Cosmic J, you are a master builder, could you handle a Ma.K @ same time you are building the Tomahawk?

I would however suggest we move to a new thread since I got everyone worked up to do a Gundam here.  I would be glad to move the AFS Mk II to a new location to get things going.

Poll: EXIA Celestial Being Mobile Suite, MG, Premium Price, Ignition Mode.  Built with or without battle damage as comes in kit.  I like this guy, he is a edge weapon fighter, getting in close to do the duty and not far far away with some bazooka blowing everything to bits.  I have been studying the instructions all week and I am just chomping at the bits to build SOB,Surprise

Well since no one commented, I vote for the damaged version.  You always see the Gundams as pristine and like they just came from a fashion show, so this one will show what he is made of.

I hope to maybe work this one in some time this week.  Will pretty much build stock out of box.

Cool

Untill you are POSITIVE you can build a clean gundam with no flaws or mistakes (relatively speaking) dont try battle damaging

also, if you damage it, you have to scratch build interiors, and you should have some practice with that as well

I agree with every word you have spoken my friend, but the neat thing about this kit, there is a reason for the high price tag that comes on it. the damage is already included, you can build either way, with or without the damage.  It also comes with the Ignition Mode Power Generator in the chest that lights up w/a small battery!  I have this feature in the PG's, but for me, this will be the 1st time in 1/100th for this little detail.  Bandia pulled no stops when they hit the market with this one.  After much checking, this kit is @ the moment one of the most poplar kits they market.  Now, if only they would do this in 1/144thSurprise

As always, thanks for you insight smeagol, thou art a wise builder.

A separate thread has been started for the EXIA build.  Studied again last night and I will start working on this evening, so hopefully should have some photos posted on the other thread soon.

Again I am very humbled by the number of hits this thread keeps getting.  This indicates there is a large interest in Gundam here, but for some reason so few are  posted?  Surprise

Got the itch to work some more on this one before starting another.  Oh yea, thanks too Red Comet, got me inspired to finish this Wink

Played around w/pose today that I liked the best before finishing w/armor plating.  And guess what, went back and looked @ Red Comets excellent build and thought, heck the best pose was the one on the front of the box, you know where the RX-78 has just mach'd thru the atmosphere, laser sword blazing as he servers a Zaku dog in half as he hits the ground in a kneeling position, oh that is just soooo cool.  I know smeagol, you are for the other side, but today I am killing Zakus.

I am just impressed with the posebility of this kit, though I do admit, I like the older MG kits better.  They were not meant to be played with sooo much, but rather to convey the machine for what it is, a fighter.

The RX-78 has and will forever be my favorite, period.  I have a PG that will show up someday here, but for now, I need to finish this one.  After settling on this pose, I see many areas that need a touch of paint.  Over all I am happy with how this one is turning out.  And again, thanks too all who keep checking in on my little Zaku killer.

A Parting Shot!  Dead

After slicing the hapless Zacu in half, a parting shot is fired to complete the task of one less Zacu to exterminate!   "I just love the smell of a burning Zacu in the morning"

All kidding aside, if you are into Gundams, then do yourself a favor and check out Red Comet's Blog of the BAKUC  Australian Contest and check out his builds as well as the others, this is a real treat for Gundam fans.  Thanks Red Comet, I do not know how this got by me before now.  Thanks for sharing this.Toast

Received a order from my friend in Japan today and he sent me a gift inside that to tell the truth just blew my socks off, no really, my sock went flying across the roomSmile Dots

What he sent was a 1/6 scale Samurai Sword,  not some plastic thing, but a honest to goodness metal blade w/the wave line, (sharp), pointy tip, sword.  This is complete with the traditional scabbard, sword stand to display sword and scabbard.  The min. I saw this thing I thought, "Boy do I have a place for you".  The following is the results of that thought.

Oh, do I need to say what he is doing, lets just say it entails a Zacu dog. Dead

Thought I would give some of my other projects a break today and was looking @ the frame f/the RX-78 and thought why not just go ahead and apply all the panels, looks kinda naked this way.  I will clear coat, I know smeagol, and panel line @ a later date, but at least he has his cloths on now.  Really he is not the focus of the attention, but that crazy Samurai Sword sent from a friend in Japan as a gift.  I think the thing just looks wicked held in the Gundam's paws ready for a swipe of death!  Anyhow @ least the RX is assembled and clothed now!!!!!!!!!!Stick out tongue

I know the RX-78 looks cool w/the Samurai Sword, but to tell the truth, it will finally wind up in the hand of a EXIA's, a battle damaged and mad warrior who just like a wounded animal will go for it all at a last moment of glory.  His last stand so to speak, and yea I know that the Gundam do not carry a Samurai Warriors Sword, but hey, the EXIA is a edge weapons killer, can be built as a damaged/wounded fighter, and besides, I bought him and can build in anyway I please, so for the die hard Gundamites, get over it!  I can not think of a better Gundam to put this weapon in their hand than the EXIA's.  But that will be in the future, in the mean time, the RX-78 gets to hold for now.  Thanks for the kind words guys.  Always good to know you are interested, heck, that's why we post builds on Forums.
