Really looks good
A couple years ago I had the AMT kit and was going for the battle worn look. It was nearly done with it, and my crazy ex smashed it beyond repair. I wish I kept it to use as space debris for another build, but hindsight...
I was so heartbroken, but now, this has inspired me to get another one.
Great work.

I'm not sure how I missed this, but I did.
Very nice D-7! The colors look very good.
Thanks for sharing.
Tom Cervo I think that was Bradbury's intention to reflect on the Klingon military society.

Bradbury? I think you mean Gene Roddenberry.
Great looking build, and if you've got your colors correct, I've been painting my wrong all these years! I'll use your scheme to replicate my next Polar Lights kit.
Soooo nice! the view ports are really well done. you did a wonderful job, MN. Keep at it!

PM me your mailing address and I'll send you paint samples.

That looks very good--is there anywhere I can get samples of the paint colours? My old D7 was painted different shades of grey--matched the filming miniature at the Smithsonian NASM pretty good but I guess that sample had been incorrectly painted
WOW! Very nice indeed! Great detail work!

I always thought the Klingon script read: If you can read this your in range!
Dont worry about the thumbprint, paint it Rust , and call it "Battle Damage"
Very nice build! I always thought the D7 was one of the more cooler looking ships in the Star Trek universe
that is truly amazing and clean. WOW WOW WOW.

My favorite Trek ship (even without all of the finite detail of the newer shows). Beautiful build!
Flawless paint work! Flawless!
Really beautiful.
Oh, and I checked my Klingong translator {yes I have one stop laughing} and the text on the ship says
"I Brake for Orian Women"
Most of you are scratching your heads but Trekies know what I"m talkin 'bout!

Cadet Chuck Modelnerd- you are a professional model building shop, I assume? This is not anything like hobbyist work. Beautifully done! How much is something like that worth, if you don't mind revealing....

Thanks Chuck!
I have been working at a professional model building/model design shop for the past four years. But I am also a home hobbyist. I finally mustered the courage to build one of these at home. A completed model like this D7 typically sells for the $1600-$2000 range. This one has found a happy home with a private collector.
Gimme a pigfoot, and a bottle of beer...
THAT is a thing of beauty!
Thanks. This all-resin kit was made by Custom Replicas (www.customreplicas.com).
Great job !! It looks straight out of the show !! What kit is this ?? I'd love to know 'cause they way this turned out I'd raring to go on my own. When I was kid in the 70's (before Star Wars) my Grandfather built me one of these from AMT, I watched the show in syndication on Saturday nights. Man this thing brings back memories. Let me know, great work.
Sweet, really beautiful work.
Terry.
Thanks again, everyone!
ModelNerd-This is one of the best looking Klingon D7 models I have ever seen. Outstanding work.
BashMonkey Kugai Okay...fanboy question here... Who else tried looking up what the Klingon script on the ship says? "I Brake For No One"

Gamera ... Was the original studio model painted this way or just a plain grey?

Thanks. The studio models started with this green/gray scheme. At some point, one of the models got an additional green color added to some areas. The colors I used were custom matched to color samples from an original filming model.
