Thanks. The decal set is extremely tedious and extensive. It took me two weeks to place them all. They would show up better on a lighter base color, but I wanted a very subtle effect as seen in the movie.

Very nice work! We were just watching that movie again this past weekend. The ship's design is complex and you built it and finished it wonderfully.

Well Don!

Love the aztecing but also the slight sheen, you see it nicely in the first underside photo.

Just like the movie finish.

Thanks guys. The sheen is just luck.I did shoot for the subtle movie look for the aztecing by using a light grey base color.

As far as I'm concerned, the Enterprise refit and this ship are the two most beautiful designs in the Trek universe. Elegant, yet functional lines. Great looking build you have there. Nicely done. Beer

TD,

Very nice job! Makes me want want to pull out my old kit and get to work. All though I'm currently in the Star Wars mode right now.

Aztecing (or Aztec’ing)  A decorative treatment to complex geometric pattern exhibiting simple self-similarity in that small details of its structure viewed at rough scale repeat elements of the pattern.

Aztec has patterns produced by low-complex pseudo-fractals. The purpose of the digitized repeated design, viewed if the light hit the model at an oblique angle, is to match the visual texture of typical manufactured panels.

That's certainly how Reliant and Enterprise appeared in the movies.

Beautiful build. I have that ship in my pile waiting to be done.

But I did do my own kit-bash Reliant in TOS style.
