Well last night at IPMS Chapter meeting I picked up a Klingon K'T'inga Class Battle Cruiser that another club member was selling for $5... just in case...Whistling

Oddly, I was thinking of A D-7 to go along with the USS Enterprise I built for "Hooray for Hollywood GB".

Well, I have been a bit under the weather recently.  Maybe I should build a FW-190 to make me feel better.  Or take some pictures of German armor at Arnhem...  Confused

.  Still, a change from "German" aircraft and armor might be welcome!  Whistling

Well THAT aint gonna happen...LOL

I would consider putting something together for a Star Wars like build. Sounds cool!

Whoa! This is way too ironic. Just a couple of days ago I had gone out to my storage bus to put something away when I decided to dig through some boxes of older models I have stored in there. I came across the two kits I had stashed in there of the AMT Federation Starship USS Reliant. My father had bought these for me years ago from the exchange at Hill AFB. The thought occurred to me that maybe I ought to build one just for something different to do. Thusly, I brought one in with me with that thought in mind. This is the only SciFi kit that I have. And, lo and behold, you drop this awesome idea on us.So, I just might very interested in joining in on this endeavor of yours.

Sounds like a great idea...I have tons of Star Wars and Star Trek in my stash.  And Wayne, I think those Bandai anime tanks are pretty sweet too.  I saw one with a briefing set at a show a couple of years ago for $40.  I wish I knew then how expensive they really are, because that was a steal at that price.  Would look cool with some kind of "what if" German camo scheme...

Just because some sic fi such as Welles & Verne are older than anybody here, that does not mean the type should be excluded. Why not the Nautilus alongside the Nostromo?

wow this was just a 0300 looking through the stash thought. thanks for all the responses. given we have longest day and hollywood finishing june and july think i will go with august. that should give folks enough time to finish up some GBs (like me who has about 6 in the queue). just in time for my killer orphaned armor gb.

as for what i don't see why not figures. i would do one of those bandai anime tanks except they are so damned expensive. i guess i need some help on subject matter. obviously sci fi movies and tv space ships and vehicles. that would seem to include the alien from aliens so are other figures like xmen appropriate? how about the jules verne NAUTILUS? or anime? or tank girl? or godzilla? just throwing things up/out for comments. i think stuff like luft 46 and paper panzers would be excluded and real space stuff but, for example, PILGRIM OBSERVER is not real but not sci fi either.

to paraphrase wolowitz on big bang theory "my God what have i done?"

Would the X-men be considered as sci-fi?

If it is, would a sci-fi GB be open to figures, such as a character from the X-men?

regards,

Jack

Well wayne, I think you have some support for a Sci Fi GB.

SS, I won't be running the SW GB until next year in the run up to the release of the new movie. So if wayne does hold a Sci Fi GB this year, I think that would be a nice overlap.

I might be interested.  I've got a couple X-Wings Millennium Falcons and a BSG Viper in the stash.

Hey Bish, I'd be in for a Star Wars GB... I just hope I have the time to do it (My project would be rather demanding...)

Probably the closest catch all's for sci fi GBs outside a specific theme would be in the "Hooray for Hollywood", as much of sci fi being movie or TV based, fits in there. But such a GB does sound tempting.

Not a bad idea, Wayne. I was thinking of doing a "Space Race GB" sometime in the future (probably October).  Not SF, of course.

But there are so many GBs going on right now (continuing ones as well), I wonder if we're not "over-extended".  Still, a change from "German" aircraft and armor might be welcome!  Whistling

Gary

That's always the problem isn't it. Just when you think its slowing down, a load more new GB's pop up.

I will ignore that last remark, you are clearly ill Wink

There was a Star Wars GB a few years back and I am planning another next year, but I don't recall a general Sci Fi GB.
