The badge idea is a good one. I think we should vote on the ideas presented and chose one. Can we agree at the very least that "A" badge is better than no badge? I will deal with one that I'm not a 100% with to show my support to the Sci-Fi group.Wink [;)]

Going along with the copywrite laws
Why not wait for that Starfighter Scratch build to be done and then use an image of the best of that lot? You don't step on any feet and it makes this part of the forum personal.

Another idea: Someone here might know someone else who would let there artwork be used for a logo.

This idea sounds pretty good to me as well. What do you think about voting on the finished model images from the group build and making the group favorite the badge? I also like Dan's project sketch as a badge.

I like that too. One "phrase" that binds us together but each of us choosing the specific area of interest in a pic(or pics). How 'bout "To infinity and beyond!" Big Smile [:D]

I think you may have hit nail on the head here , while we do seem to have different ideas of what the badge should be maybe we should all just have a badge that signifies what each of us are more into . Some memebers like Star Trek more than Star Wars and so on , I would like to ask you if you wouldn't mind if I used your X-wing since I like Star Wars and build more Star Wars kits than anything , plus it's just the right size .

Hey I am only a newbie on this forum, but I like the idea of the C57-D from Forbidden Planet. That is certainly a "classic" Sci-Fi image and recognisable for everyone.

How 'bout a "strip" type badge with several, smaller pics. Maybe an X-Wing, an Enterprise, and something of general sci-fi? I thought I saw the aircraft bdage with three pics. Somwthing to please almost everybody. Just a thought.

I think we need something as to what does it really matter at this point ? I like the idea of the X-wing as it's one of my favs , but some people think differently about it , is there someway we can create a poll or something and take a vote as to what the badge should be ?

I like the paintings by Boybuddho. I don't know anything about classic sci-fi except Asimov and he wasn't too much into starships. I wouldn't mind the X-Wing with the Death Star in the background.

I know I don't get to post much over here since the armor bug bit me but I am PRIMARILY a sci-fi builder at heart. It's what i cut my teeth on back in the eighties and I still build robots and zoids. How about the Martian tripod from war of the worlds. H.G. Wells practically invented sci-fi. I'm pretty sure everyone could agree on that. I'd say use the pic of the tripod from the old movie (even though technically it wasn't a tripod but anywayShy [8)]) with the heat ray firing. it looks reall meanacing and it kicked the tar out of every air craft and tank that came at it in cluding the nuke. The AC and armor guys always have there freindly competition wel, the tripod beats them all. Or the UFO from Independance Day. We need to show that we can kick butt too!LOL

Speaking of generic, maybe a basic outline of a UFO or an alien would look nice since those would, more or less, directly be associated as Sci-fi.
