G-8 'anti-gravity' Cargo Pod
Posted by Tiking on Monday, February 3, 2020 12:57 PM

Another sci-fi build. Seem to be doing a lot of those these days. I have one more to do than I will be back to building the usual truck and 1/35 builds. I had been working on this for some weeks now and have gotten it to this point. The majority of the work is a combination of scratch building, and some kit-bashing. I pretty much used whatever and anything that was in my arsenal. Lots of small bits and pieces went into making this, a somewhat, believable sci-fi transport. I still have a little more work to do on the wagon behind the driver's compartment before calling it done. Thanks to Shane Bradley for coming up with the name for this build.. Again, my pic taking is not the best. Sorry for the quality of the pics.

The G-8 Cargo 'anti-gravity pod. This is a small low level cargo vehicle. One that conveys smaller goods and mechanical items around a major industrial factory. Basically indoors chore with a mega huge space. But it can be used outside to convey goods between two complex.

Oh wow that's awesome!!!

Wish I had one, I'd put a picnic basket and a cooler full of drinks in the pod...

Again, it's so well done I can't identify where you got the original parts. I assume the cab was off a tractor or something like that?

Thank you kindly. The parts are from various left over kits I had saved over many years. A mixture of things I had at home or work. If it looks the part, I'll use it. The cab is from a front loader toy. I bought 3, which I'm thinking of modifying into a detailed front loader for my heavy hauler truck.

I made a floating gantry for the G-8 pod. I will have to add a figure. 1/24 or 1/32 scale might work here.

It Did?

Oh Fiddlestix. Well, I guess, I need a roof on the porch to sit above the crowd and sip my Margaritas. A cooler would fit in the Container real well. Can you say Beeer? Just think floating above the crowd at the Air Show !

Coming down to earth. I am shortly going to start the Stockholm. You know, the ship that inadvertentally struck the Andrea Doria. Paper-Models ( Misnomer to me) Card models are more accurate. I will post pics when I start.
