I dry brushed flat white on the Mugato.

I also started on his base.

I think I'm happy with the fur. I'll start the face/hands/spine tomorrow.

I just posted this in the Figure section.

I'm getting close.

I masked the base today.

And most of the detail painting was started.

His face/hands/feet are Italian sand.

The spines are sand

The horn is light brown.

Sadly I forgot his ears. I'll fix that tomorrow.

The Face is a shade too dark. I might repaint it.

The Mugato is done!

Here he is on display with Spock.

I might make a small phaser 1 to put on the base near the communicator.

I'm very happy with how he came out! This was really outside of my comfort zone.

Thanks everyone for all the suggestions.

Oh cool!!! Such a nice job!!

He looks like he wants to throw down with Kirk but I suppose Spock will do!!!

Just don't stick him in there with Bones...

Thank you very much!

He was a fun build that forced me to try new things.

Here he is on display.

Thanks!

I'm happy to have him there!

I made one small addition to Mr. Mugato!

I think I'm done with him for real now!

Science officer: 'Sir, I think we found the missing landing party!!!'

Captain: 'How's that lieutenant?'

Science officer: 'Yes, sir, remember that very fat and happy Muguto we encountered? Here's a big pile of Mugato dung, with a communicator and a tricorder in it...'

Doh!

I guess I need to sculpt a tricorder now!

I missed your completion!  He looks good!  With a name like "Mugato", I think he'll be starring in a Japanese movie next.  Wonder who came up with that name?  Big Smile

Sorry Gary, I missed this this.

The 1st draft of the script called him a "Nueralese Great Ape". Sometime along in the script drafts he was changed to the "Gumato", the credits list him as "Gumato". I guess DeForrest Kelly couldn't pronounce it so they changed it to "Mugato" during shooting.

Thanks! This build was really out of my wheelhouse, I enjoyed it!

Fun!  The collection looks great and he's a great, more obscure addition.

Thanks,

John

Are those two different versions of "V"ger?

Thanks Keavdog!

Tanker-Builder

Hi!

Are those two different versions of "V"ger?

Not really,

The back one is NOMAD the front one is M-4, Mr. Flint's robot. Both from TOS.

Some say that Star Trek TMP was a re-do of NOMAD's episod, "The Changling", So I guess it is an early version of V'Ger.

Thanks!

I've managed to pick up a bunch of TOS prop kits and stuff over the years.
