Actually have you ever thought of using Solarez as a gap filler? Basically put it on use UV light to cure it then sand. It's the same type of Resin that comes in the pen with a UV light attached.

..and the build continues.  Worked on the seams using Vallejo putty.  First time using it, not bad.  Have to remember how to work with water based putty versus Tamiya's putty.
