MPC Return of the Jedi A-Wing as a 1st Air Commando Group What-If . . .

Just finished this today. Did the build as a "what-if". Just like most of these MPC re-pops, the kit pretty much fell together. When I began painting the model, I found out the kit isn't symetrical. Painting the black stripes had to be done to hide that fact.

Paint is overall AK Dark Aluminum with NATO black for the markings. The nose is Flat White.

OK. In the stash: Way too much to build in one lifetime...

That is one sweet A-Wing, those checkerboards are particularly impressive!

Fotofrank,

You found an A-Wing like you'd been planning on!  Any luck with that B-Wing?

Syymetrical body or not, the striping is A-Mazing!  It gives the A-wing a predatory look. Also like how you picked out a few spots for additional color.  They did a great job creating visual interest and preventing the monotony of too much aluminum.

Just can't get enough of your translations of WWII paint schemes to Star Wars vehicles! Heart

Thank, y'all. I like doing these "what-ifs" because the regular Star Wars schemes are just too boring. Yeah, OK for a movie but not for the display shelf.

BTW: PhoenixG, I did pick up an MPC B-Wing at Modelpalooza last month. It will probably go on the bench sometime after the first of the year. Think A6M3.

I've always thought this fighter would look good as a twin boomed fighter, like the Twin Mustang or P-38 Lightning. Nice job.

Glad you found one!

I'm intrigued by how you'll do the translation to the B-Wing.  Gives me something to look forward to next year!

My Walmart is carrying the old MPC B-Wing and X-Wing (ROTJ), but at like $25.
