Dragonfire,

Try the Anime forum at www.starshipmodeler.com

The topic there has been mostly Gundam lately. I have a 1/100 MG 'Easy 8' kit that I have not started yet. It's my only Gundam.

I've built many many gundam kits. They're considerably easier to build than a Wal-Mart bought Revell-Monogram kit, and look very nice out of the box.

Although, I wish Bandai ditched the stickers completely and went with waterslides. I don't mind the dry-transfers, but the stickers totally ruin the look of the model. Come on Bandai! Give us waterslides like you did on the F-91 kits!

I think Bandai still thinks that most Gundam modelers are kids who still don't have the skills in transfering water slides. Or ther're just keeping the cost down of the model kits. I agree about how crappy those stickers are.

This could possibly be the stupidest question ever asked on this forum, but what is Gundam? I mean I know what they are, I have seen the kits at my LHS, but what is the story behind them? I always thought they looked pretty cool, but never bought one because I had no clue to what exactly they were.

That would be EZ-8, not "easy" (Sure sounds like it though... )

Anyway, I'm a Gundam builder, if you wanna call me that ^__^ (I like alot of mecha, after all... ) Heck, I'm the only known female who's really active in the communities and stuff.... (I think of that as a bit of a bad thing, though... Not much diversity... )

My website has some of my works... Here's a few I have yet to actually make any link to on my site, though:

http://www.blue-devil.net/chaosgear/DSHC.html
http://www.blue-devil.net/chaosgear/WryResin.html
http://www.blue-devil.net/chaosgear/DSBlack.html

I have a few more pages to make as well...

There's millions of websites out there that tell all about Gundam and stuff, probably better than GOfficial.com too... (I just don't have any handy -__- )

I think the RX-79 and EZ-8 were in service at the same time... But I still need to see 08th MS Team... (I have some VCDs, but the subtitles are in Chinese -__- )

Nice job you did, though! All I have of that kit is it's head lol (A friend gave me a bunch of loose parts and it was in there, so I saved it )

OK, even I know this, even though I got the name wrong. The EZ-8 is a sort of hybrid made up of spare parts of RX-79s. So in that sense, they were in service the same time as the 79s.

The 08th MS Team was one the the best of the Gundam stories (IMHO) followed by Stardust Memories.

By the way, nice work on your 79, Akuma. Maybe I should try to get my EZ-8 ready for the Milford IPMS show this year. If you are still in Connecticut by October, you should bring several of your Mecha!

Wow! There are a lot more builders than I thought, but that's good news!Big Smile [:D] I grew up watching "Mobile Suit Gundam" in Japan and now that I'm older (not quite yet grown upBig Smile [:D]) I started building the models again. I usually build aircraft, but buildning Gundam kits provided a nice break and a nice change of subject. I like the kits because they're easy to assemble and quick to build.
Thanks for the input.

What's everyone's favorite kit? I like the MGs and Zaku IIs.

OK, here is my proposal for the gundam group build:

- 1/144 or
- HGUC.

HGUC or 1/144 kits are available, cheap and easy to build.

Bye,
Max

Hows about HG 1/100s too? Or would that be more of a seperate build? (IE: MG 1/100 and all other 1/100s )

I have a few 1/144s in queue, but my next two kits are 1/100 (God Gundam and Deathscythe Hell Custom )

For me it's OK. Let's just make a gundam related group build regardless of scale or subject.

Max

I could go for this. It would light a fire under me to get my Easy-8 (there I go again!), I mean, EZ-8 ready for a fall show.

If you find a 1/100 of the Easy-8, you should put them into a small diorama or something :P (sure, it'll be like an in-joke, but if done right, it could look cool I bet... )

Easy meets an EZ, eh? I did think of that but I don't think there are too many 1/100 Sherman kits out there.
