Hi Brews,

I was going to splurge and get the FM MF but as I had half of an AMT MF lying around, I decided to do the AMT instead.. With the help of a friend I was able to get the extra parts to complete it, and so it is sitting waiting to be done..

I am in the middle of other builds, so I guess the summer will be when I start it properly.. I also plan on lowering the walls and adding the extra detail as well...

I have built a few of these guys, and I usually have them on thier landing gear, but this time I am thinking of doing it in a flight display... People always talk about a release of an ANH MF.. Well the AMT is it.. Just leave it as is, and dont add the extra landing gear and you are set..

If you need a Radar Dish, let me have a look, and I may have a spare one for you to use if you still need it?.. I may have some other parts as well..

Cheers Chris

Hi all,

I bought the AMT kit back in '95 or so. I started working on it, but stopped when I got frustrated. My plan was to scratchbuild improvements to the cockpit and gun wells. I bought some sheet styrene, but didn't really know how to begin.

Since then, a bunch of update kits have become availble, I've built more models, my skills have improved, and I've found folks like you. Smile [:)]

So, I was going to buy the Falcon Kits upgrade sets ($115 at this time) and two of the Triliance gun well kits (approx. $32 plus shipping). That would take me to $150 or so!

The new Fine Molds Falcon Kit is selling for about $165 USD.

So I have decided to save my money and build my Falcon basically out of the box. I may choose to cut down the side walls a bit. and I may work on the cockpit and gun wells, but I may just focus on the painting and weathering.

Then I'll get the Fine Molds Falcon and build that much more detailed model in the future. There's a good preview of that kit at Star Ship Modeler.

So please keep the photos coming. They inspire me to do a little more than an out of the box build. :)

Regards,

Regards,

-Drew
