FineMolds Millennium Falcon test shots from the Shizuoka Hobby Show
Posted by J-Hulk on Monday, May 16, 2005 9:35 AM
Here are a few pix of the new FineMolds Falcon I took this weekend:

Lookin' good!
Seems to be just about the same size as the old MPC/AMT/AMT-Ertl kit.
Looks a little better, though! Wink [;)]
Costs a little more, too...Disapprove [V]
But I'm sure gonna get one! Big Smile [:D]

That looks really neat!

Hey, where's the armor coverage from the show, Brian? Don't forget your armoured pals! Wink [;)]

This one may tempt me as well. Always wanted a decent Falcon.

Nope; just what you see in the pix!
But with over 800 parts in the kit, I reckon it should be a pretty decent cockpit!

Tempting, very tempting, but I just don't know if I could justify paying that much for a kit. Who knows, though, I may just get the bug and have to get one... Still, it looks like a well detailed kit. Though a lot of the basic parts break down reminds me of the AMT/ERTL kit that I had. Is it a new mold or a re-tool of the old kit? Either way, looks like they have a hit on their hands.
A day in the Corps is like a day on the farm; every meal is a banquet, every paycheck a fortune, every formation a parade... The Marine Corps is a department of the Navy? Yeah...The Men's Department.

Who says it's going to be $180? The HLJ website says the price is unknown. Is $180 the price they were throwing around at the show?

It was listed at "around 20,000 yen," which at today's exchange rate of 107 yen to the US dollar is $186.92.

Aha. Well, that is a lot of dough, but then again their little Tie and X-wings are pretty pricey too. I guess it all depends on how much you like the ship -- you could always buy a few old Tamiya Panther kits and make one from scratch ... Laugh [(-D]

But what would be cooler than doing a diorama of the Falcon being attacked by a few of those beautiful Tie models?
