My Enterprise bridge models
Posted by Anonymous on Thursday, May 26, 2005 2:29 PM
Hi all, I'm new here and have never posted pics anywhere before, so hopefully I'm doing this right. Tongue [:P]

This is a scratchbuilt TNG bridge I made a while back, in the same scale as the old TOS bridge kit. I don't know why, but I love building these things, maybe because not many other people do. I've also done a TOS bridge and a Cage bridge, and plan to do the TWOK bridge sometime soon.

One other note: the carpet color is supposed to be the burgundy/blue combo from the last season, but for some reason my camera keeps changing the colors on me. It's not nearly as bright as it looks here.

I also originally wanted to add the giant viewscreen, but in the end liked the idea of looking in to the bridge at "eye level." (Plus I didn't feel like building it). Wink [;)]

That is truly an amazing piece of work. How many hours went into that? Any other bridges in the works? Thanks for posting those photos.

Looks very nice. Now you just need a crew to populate it.

Thanks for the compliments! Here's my bridge from The Cage:

I couldn't resist putting in a printout at Spock's computer.

And a black and white pic for the black and white version of the pilot Wink [;)]

This one was a lot of fun to make. The little oval viewers were made from the tips of the chairs after they were cut off, and the screens around the top were done on a basic paintbrush program (it's the only thing I have).

I didn't really keep track of how long it took. Certainly no more than a few months. So far there's just a CAGE, TOS, and TNG bridge. After I finish my BTTF3 delorean I plan to do the TWOK bridge. I'd love to do Ops from DS9 too, but it's probably waaaay too intricate and complex.

Wow. Although I have never seen a episode of Star Trek in my life, that is some skillful scratchbuilding.
Well done.

What the hell, I'll just put all the bridges in the same thread. Here's the TOS one. This was probably harder than the TNG, considering all the modifications that had to be done to the existing kit and all the detail I had to add.

Beautifull work, Dave!

I hope you don't mind but I posted the links to these images over at a Star Trek forum at www.starshipmodeler.com (ever been there?)

They'll be greatly appreciated over there as well.

No problem. I visit that site all the time too. But since they seem to be primarily about starship models, I figured I should post these to a general scifi site.

I wish. It would have saved me a lot of trouble! Wink [;)] No, it was just a scratchbuilt model. I've had a few requests for turning it INTO a kit, but I don't know the first thing about making molds and it would probably take up too much time anyway. Maybe sometime down the road....

Nope, just the three so far. I've only started diagramming my TWOK bridge. And I've always been more of a Romulan guy than a Klingon guy anyway. Wink [;)]

Amazing. That is some very unique, and very well done work. I have to say, it's the first time I've seen anything like it. Absolutely fantastic! Big Smile [:D]
