GMorrison

One of my favorite alltime posts from the past, from another guy named Morrison:

............This kit is a lump of plastic morphologically resembling some parts of the real ship. It does not actually come come anywhere near close."

Take it with a laugh, but why don't you start with somethingthat won't fight you every step. Certainly a couple of other kits exist.

Dunno about anyone else, but I haven't gone any further with the kit as I did not have PE parts until recently.........and........I noted that dealers have occasionally brought second hand Revell 1/350th kits to local shows- as well as quite a few Revell 1/96 Constitution kits.

No sign of large Bismarck kits this year but I did obtain two sets of PE to fit the 1/350 th scale ship for $3.00 each at the last show.

Might not have an opportunity to buy a second hand Revell kit until the November 2016 show, but Illinois tax rates require patience in order to afford large, expensive kits.

That Lindberg build still looks really good, especially considering the condition of the original kit.Big Smile

Used to be a rite of passage for many boys to use their Daisy Red Ryder BB rifles to commit the Coup de Gras to kits like the Lindberg Bismarck. Doing that now would entail the risk of jail time. Hmm

There must be a George C. Scott line from the movies "Patton" or "Doctor Strangelove"  that would fit such a societal change......Whistling

"Strangelove. What kind of a name is that? That ain't no *** name, is it, Stainsy?"
"He changed it when he became a citizen. It used to be Merkwurkdigliebe."

EDIT: And this just in, ladies and boys- the nanny bot doesn't like pickled cabbage.

I still have to say that this model of the Bismarck is one of the most impressive I have seen given the kit from which it came. It is an amazing job!  I admit that I would never have the patience that you obviously have to build such a work of art. Kudos!
