Sorry I've not got back to you sooner, BUT..... I'm back up from underwater now http://www.sherv.net/cm/emoticons/sport/swimming-smiley-emoticon.gif

The past week or so I've had nothing but  http://www.sherv.net/cm/emo/angry/bang-head-on-desk.gif router, modem and ethernet cable trouble.       Doh emoticon (Hand gesture emoticons)

Everything's straightened out now but my kit has apparently been on a "slow ship from china"...

I'll be going thru some references in the next few days and I hope to see you again on my next uboot build.

Untill then,

No problem!  Let's just hope that "slow ship" isn't taking the coast near Yemen!

Hey Gary,

         Finally!

It was raining this evening when I heard someone just knockin' away on my door. I'm glad they did because my U-boot had arrived, (it was raining) but it wouldn't fit in the mailbox.

Keep your ️eyes on the ship forum. I'll be starting my U-Boot Type XXI posting in about a week to ten days.

And so........ until then

Look forward to it!  After my attempt to build the Trumpeter 1941 USS Gato I gave up on anymore ship building.  It's really a "You must love suffering" kind of thing.  Wink

Well,
Now I've got some suffering to put up with.

Saturday I was going to start out on my next/last submarine build (Type XXI), but it looks like it might be a short while before I can get started on it.

Right outt'a the box, I got around to closely checking out my kit and to my surprise everything is fine.....until I started cutting sprue.

It had been snapped clean off right out of the box!
Who'da thought.....of all the things, I missed this!

  http://www.sherv.net/cm/emoticons/guns/suicide.gif$30 bucks down the hole.
I cannot use this piece of junk so I've been using it as an experimental hulk and paint mule.

OKAY..... now I gott'a dig up "another kit"

So I'm heading out to a local hobby shop this time.

That's a bummer!  I've run into a similar situation on a B-26 Marauder where I found the tail end was missing, like your submarine.  Luckily, I was able to acquire another.

Battle damage.  Yeah... battle damage.

Hope you get another!

I made a suggestion to Forum Feedback & Error Reporting to
make an effort to look into this.
Eventually the powers that be, just might see.

Send me a link to the original thread and I'll see if I can link them up.

http://www.sherv.net/cm/emoticons/eating/ice-cream-fall.gif 504 Gateway Time-out.

Nearly every time I try to begin my Type XXI build, something goes goofy.

I'm lucky to get this typed before it's time for another U No Whut.

When the gateway problem gets cleared up and consistent I'll get it started.

Don't Panic!   Once you assemble both halves togther, get some Aves Apoxy Sculpt (amazon).  2 part Water based epoxy putty.  You can virtually replace that busted piece by putting the mixed putty in the area and rescupting it with your fingers.   Save of the Decade!

AH!

     Too late....

I finally found a new kit for 24.95 about 3 weeks ago but I'm not going to post/start a build here until the forum gets fixed.

If it's not a 504 then it's just draggin along, and I'm definitely not getting any younger

I'm surprised I've managed to post here today without the old gateway swinging shut on my butt.

BUT....http://fc02.deviantart.net/fs71/f/2010/164/d/6/Run_Out_Of_Idea_by_KinnisonArc.gif

The upside to this is that I have a lot of extra parts.
