"Leave her, Johnny, leave her!
Oh, leave her, Johnny, leave her!
For the voyage is long and the winds don't blow
And it's time for us to leave her."

I went early today to Ollie's.  Apparently fate decided that I would be the proud owner of this kit, as there was one left.  With tax, it was $55.  This is a really big box, so large that I had to put it into the back of my SUV.

Now comes the pain.  I may go ahead and start this kit, as it's going to take a LONG time.  Guess I might do a WIP, but it would be so slow that I doubt anyone would be interested.  Time to get started on gathering information and research.

PS> I think Bad Hat answered the question on the Sea Witch and the Swordfish in a post (look for it on May 11th).  Both were Marx kits originally.

Awesome ! That price is certainly better than at Amazon. I'd consider one of these at that price. And I like it's size.

My local Ollie's has this kit. I had a 20% off coupon, but did not get any models. I did comment to my 16 yr old son that I had a wall poster called "The Sea Witch Leaving" as a kid.

Scott..I double checked and both models are Marx creations.

That is why I said they have the same hull.  Marx, like Revell, used the same hull mould for both models.  I'm not sure if Lindberg purchased these moulds from Marx for their own version...but both of mine come with the metal printed decks.

I took images with my phone but in typical fashion, I can't transfer them to this site...so no pics at this time.

Like I said...I built the Lindberg version of the Sea Witch several times.....but the Marx version is new to me...so when I get to them...it will be an adventure.

Thanks for the information regarding the Marx models.  These were new news to me and the information on the web is kinda sparse.  I may have mentioned this before in that I am planning to build the Scientific version of the Sea Witch that will be my first adventure into making a detailed model from the solid hull kit.  So I've been collecting anything related to the Sea Witch.
