taking a break from Sara to scratchbuild the Midway for a friend. portside is done as well as the bow and stern.

thanks gents, it's made from papercard. got a e-mail from one of head guys from Midway saying he will send me all info for the build. i think that is one kind offer.

I am developing a healthy respect for those who model in papercard. I'll be following this build. "all the info for the build"???......depending on the level of detail you intend to work to, that could be a lot of "info"!!!!!

the hull is finish,but starboard side 1. bulkheads for the elevator is not on. have to make some changes on that. anyway some photos ,coming together o.k.so far.                                                                                                                  comments good or bad are welcome.

hull has been painted. still have to add small pieces to the hull.  a thin piece of lite paper to be added on the forward blisters.  photos of Sara next to Midway.

Looking better and better!  May we presume from the picture of the Midway and Saratoga together, and your picture of both models in the same positions, that this will be the final effect you are planning?  If so, this will be one impressive diorama!!!  I am looking forward to seeing further progress. You're doing some amazing work there - looking forward to seeing more!   I've always liked the wild shape of the angled deck that was put on Midway.

hull and flightdeck are done. just have to redo some bulkheads and walkarounds. yeah i know the horns are too long  hanging way low. just want to see how they look. the hard part is tomorrow with the island.

Those pictures of her at the pier look like Yokosuka, Japan. It's been a while so I might be wrong. I like your FDR, my dad was an airedale on her in 45 and 46.

thanks subfixer. i did that build for a friend dad who was on board in 46'.  fellow modler is gonna half the best build from me. Oh yes that is yoksi, she pulling out for the last time.
