Heller small-scale Bireme
Posted by paulhelfrich on Sunday, April 25, 2010 12:11 PM

This is a small-scale (1/225) model of a Greco-Roman Bireme by Heller.

I tried to match the box art with my paint scheme:

It's a fun little kit that builds up into a nice model.  Rigging is stretched sprue and thread.  I should have included a coin or something to give a sense of scale.  The model is only about 5" long.

Nice looking build. Unusual subject as well. The base is pretty hefty for such a small ship but I like it !

cheers,

Thanks!  Yes, I wanted a nice solid base so I could move the ship without being in danger of touching the oars.  Would be just like me to snap them off inadvertently.  Big Smile
