Hello!

I´m interest in construct one ship model, USS ASHVILLE. I found out a hull in the scale that I´m interest, but I never bought anything in that shop. If with possible, I´m interest in some shop references. The shop is

Try Warship Models Underway; they are the prime customers of models that large. There should be plenty of customers there.

I've built 9 models from Scale Shipyard hulls; and have 4 more hulls in my stash.  I've also used some of his resin fittings.  I'm pleased with the results.

They are bare fiberglass hulls with plans.  You will have to decide what materials to use for the decks, superstructure, detail fittings (rails, ladders, weapons, etc.) and purchase those separetely.  You will also need to purchase props, rudders, shafts, etc.

USCGC TAMAROA (WMEC 166) built from the Sclae Shipyard's 1:48 scale ATF.

Tug SOCONY 12 built from the Scale Shipyard's 114' tug hull.

HELEN MORAN built from the Scale Shipyard's Diesel Tug INTENT semi kit.

USS HAMMERHEAD, USS BARB, and USS SKIPJACK.  HAMMERHEAD and SKIPJACK were built from Scale Shipyard hulls.

If the a Scale Shipyard bare-hull kit is not right for you then look for a Revell USS Defiance

It is 1:131 scale and actually not too bad for what it is.   You may still have to scratchbuild some details to correct kit shortcomings ( the aft 40mm gun).

JAG Collective made a 1:350 scale resin & brass Asheville-class.   JAG kits are now being made by Admiralty Modelworks.

Also available in 1:350 is an Asheville by Iron Shipright

I prefer the ISW to the JAG kit.    The ISW kit is whole hull and the railings have a bottom gutter rail which is flush with the deck.  The JAG rails have stanchions which project below and make for a very small glueing area
