I do know this answer is three months late, but here goes.Somewhere else in this site ,Sometime in the past the same question was asked. My answer then was as follows.

I have been married twice and outlived both.(the only difference from when I answered before) and BOTH were supportive of my hobby turned cottage business.

I have been fortunate that the "BIG GUY "saw fit to link me up with TWO sensitive, sensual, and very crafty women.Number one loved wood ship modeling as much as sewing.

Number two liked knitting and crochetting as much as helping me on client projects(she always was saying,"how,d you do that?"). So with that said, show an interest in your wifes hobbies(if she has any) even if it,s cooking for instance. The rewards far outweigh the negatives.  TANKER-builder

I am one of the lucky ones, my dear lady not only tolerates my 'toys' but for last xmas she bought me a mini lathe using part of her redundancy payout from her previous job, she puts up with my mess and my disappearing acts, my waffling on about my ships and when I read out some of the funny comments from these threads as I have just done with this one. She has the patience of a saint and I love her to bits as she must do with me. Life is good!

Honestly Gents, my beautiful lady has no problem with my hobby and the time I spend on it, which is quite a lot. I had been divorced for quite a while, so given all that free time, I spent it wisely. When I did date I carefully judged their reaction to my hobby. The ones that did NOT approve or at least tolerate did not last long, since I was NOT going to give it up. So now I have a lady that fits me in all ways including my hobby. It does help that I can fix most anything around the house too, LOL.

my wife is fine with my hobby. and i am grateful for that.  she is a scrapbooker so she has a hobby too. i have the basement and my study for my building. she works and i work from home when i have work so i do most of the errand running food shopping and cooking and build during the day while she is gone.

she handed me some wood scraps the other day saying "since your a model builder is this part of a model?" it wasn't but it was a nice gesture.

she would not want a big german rr gun displayed in the living room or my armor but a nice cased rigged ship model would meet with her approval.
