Just thought I would post some pictures of my recent build of the Lindberg 1/130 Jolly Roger as 'HMS Flora'. I had found various of posts on this ship being built very handy in my own making of the model, and although my own may not be as good as those others had made, I hope the pictures may prove useful to anybody else making the model!
In regards to the name, from my limited research on the model it appeared that it most closely represented the French Blonde class frigate 'Vestale' , built in 1756, captured by the HMS Unicorn in 1761 and commissioned as HMS Flora. I know this may not be a completely accurate representation of this actual ship, but for all intents and purposes I am quite happy with her and am quite sick of complete accuracy to the minute details doing my history degree!
I hope I managed to get the rigging largely right on this model for its scale, but i'm sure some of you more knowledgeable of rigging may find plenty of faults! This is only my second plastic ship model and is in effect built straight out the box except for the added flag and 4 long 9 pounders I added to the quarterdeck.
