LOL! Okinawa had the same problem! Just added the last sponson on the build and drilling out the openings forward on the starboard side.

Well the Connie will be the Kitty Hawk CVA-63 1963-1966 Nam service. WHY? Because Trumpeter just put out the Connie with the cruve aft sponsons. I order from Shapeways the cruve sponsons from them. I had to cut and sand also made sure everything fitted just right. Now Trumpeter puts out Connie with the cruve aft sponsons. Man,I tell you. So with the decals I have as the Kitty Hawk I won't be spending money on getting decals for the Connie. I wish these companys tell us what's coming the pipeline sooner.

I am most impressed! Excellent work! I plan on contacting Shapeways to create replacement islands for the Italeri 1/720 Forrestal class ships, forward sponsons to convert one of them to the Ranger in both the 1/720 and the 1/800 kits, as well as other details. Shapeways is great! Bill

Thank You! I won't put 15 aircraft in the bay just enough to make it look busy. Beside you won't be able to see much when the flight deck is on.

Done with the hangar bay. The hard part is the island. Back dating a 1960's island is going to be hard. Post next week.

Where did you get the fork trucks from? Also, the hanger bay would looke great lighted. What do you think? Great job so far.

Hmmm.

What I am doing is building other " Bird Farms " till I find an Enterprise with the " BeeHive Island  " !   I want to get her as launched .She looked so unique ! The sad part is the only one I've seen is way outside my budget ! T.B.          P.S. Speaking of unique , I now have the Heller release , Charles De Gaulle .This ship is unique too ! The island is rectangular and in the forward third of the ship !

Hey, I have the 3-D 1/350 Bee-Hive from Shapeways to back date my Tamiya BigE. I'll work on it when my Kitty Hawk island is done.

Okay new computer. Trying to figure out to post photos again on new machine. Working on the flight deck at this time. Gonna be a shame to close up the detail. But you can still see thru the openings.
