I built Revell's 1/720 Enterprise way back when I was a kid. I saw a reissue of it in my LHS and was overcome with a wave of nostalgia. I slapped it together as a kid and loved every minute. I wanted to see if I could have just as much fun, only trying a little harder this time. I'm not a ship builder per se, so there's very little weathering done. It's essentially out of the box with a few extra aircraft from the spares box and decals from Starfighter Decals for the deck markings and air wing. I enjoyed every minute of the build and captured some of the joy I had as a child.
Thats one "mighty fine" carrier you got there !!
Dont worry about the thumbprint, paint it Rust , and call it "Battle Damage"
Hi,
I think I built that kit too when I was young. Your build turned out great. Its fun to see some of the kits from the past.

I like it,sans weathering, crisp clean display and the birds came out awesome.

Very nicly done!

'Joy' is indeed what it's all about---plus you've got a great-looking model, as well.
(And I love the 'double ugly' F-4s on deck! That's the era I remember best.)
Great project!

Starfighter Decals makes a nice resin detailed hangar deck for this kit. I am building the Big 'E' using this set. It really adds a lot.
Great job OOB!

Very nice.

raider-hallNice build! I can't do 1/720 any more. Eye site is bad enough in 1/350.
Various optical measures can restore most eye problems that limit modeling. These days supplemental (readers, cheaters) glasses are readily available at dollar stores or drug stores at modest prices. I had cataract surgery this spring and that sure was a big aid to my modeling, also. Try reading glasses before trying expensive goggle-type aids.
