There was a GB for pre-dreads, that of all people Manstein hosted. I'll see if I can find it.
EDIT: here it is.

EDIT EDIT: then there's the photobucket problem. I'll post up what I have on a new subject line so as not to hijack this thread.
Modeling is an excuse to buy books.
GMorrisonThat is indeed a Stettin-built battleship of the Chinese navy. There were two; Chen Yuen and Ting Yuen. They were launched in 1881- 1882. A good reference is "The Chinese Steam Navy" by Richard Wright, Chatham Publishing. A number of years ago Bronco sold a really nice kit on 1/350.
Now "THAT"S" the way it's suppose to look !
Did you happen to do a W.I.P. on it ?
Dont worry about the thumbprint, paint it Rust , and call it "Battle Damage"

Tanker - BuilderBy the way , between gifts and sales I have four of that particular Vosper .
OOPS ! Well I guess you dont need another.
Tanker - BuilderWhat is that ship below the Vosper ?
That is a German built Battleship that was built for China in 1902 ?
The kit is from Kit's Remembered 1/300 scale. It's motorised and the details are a "bit " toylike. I was going to build compleatly new deck's and railing's for her.... but it's just been sitting in my stash for at least 15 year's . In your hand's it would be a "One of a kind" show stopper !
The instructions are in broken english..... but it clearly state's that " Water Is NOT Included" .
Doc,
Tonight wouldn't be good. Today is my wife birthday and we will be going out to dinner. How about tomorrow Saturday?
Marcus
Hi Marcus ;
Can I call you about seven or even eight , Today ? My Son ( adopted ) usually calls around just after dinner . Gary
Hey ;
What is that ship below the Vosper ? By the way , You don't have to send me anything .As soon as Marcus and I get me over this last hump you'll only see a few more . I don't have my camera right now to import more photos to Flickr .
When I do , I am sure ya'll aregonna get fed up with my Genie getting out of the bottle . I probably will go with a scratch built " Stick Ship " of the thirties/early forties . Oh ,and some Tankers too !
This Fletcher is giving me fits , right from day one . Can you say four years ? But this is where you'll get photos from for now . By the way , between gifts and sales I have four of that particular Vosper .
Tanker - Builder Marcus ; I did and I have written them down and had them next to me . I get to Flickr and then that's where I mess up . I get the post started , go for the picture and It doesn't happen . It's my bad I am sure .

Hey Tanker-Builder.
My E-mail is not letting me add pictures to it so I"ll try here.

I keep hitting "escape", but I'm still here.
I ceratinly hope so--a 1/96 Fletcher is what, 44" long?
Gene ;
Those guns are 1/96 scale for use on a Fletcher that a client wanted . More of the pictures will be from that model. That's if I can remember how .
Way to go TB, looking forward to more. See, us old pups can learn new tricks
After you do it a few times it will come more automatically
Gene1,
I showed Doc how to post his pictures on Flickr and then to copy the photo address that Flickr assigned to each photo into FSM so they will display in the forum.
Awesome! Can’t wait to see more.
Steve
Gary, the guns look really nice. What are they from or to go on? What way did you send your pictures? I have used Picasa & Google ever since I started & don't know any other way. Picasa is not supposed to be there any more, but I still load my pictures from my camera to Picasa & then send them to Google Photos to edit.
I don't get along with computers & am really dumb on them.
Tanker - Builder Here is my first picture. If I can remember it all you'll see more soon .
