The cruise ship ROYAL PRINCESS docked at Cartajenta, Spain. I have been on one cruise ship as a guest while docked in New York harbor, some 60 more years ago. It was the QE II, when my parents went to wish bon voyage to a young married couple on their honeymoon. The ship looked elegant and not like this box-like structure seen on this photograph. This ship more resembles a low income housing project on the South Side of Chicago, where the passengers are assembled like sardines in a can. I can't knock it, as some people probably enjoy this once in a life time cruise.

I find the hull forms offensive on these floating flea-bag motels.

The hulls are steel only up to the deck below the lifeboats, then aluminum and flim-flam above that.

All to sell over-pried "windows" to goobers unaware that the "view" is mere steps away.  All intermixed with mediocre food in gluttonous quantities and indifferent food safety conditions.

All while relying on huge condensers to keep up the potable water supply for thousands of shlubs who think a 15 minute hollywood shower is "brief."

But, I'm biased. Big Smile

Cadet Chuck

You would never get me on a cruise ship, even if you paid me!  They stink, they carry disease, they sink, they get hijacked, and whatever else!

You aint missin much!!!

7-8 years ago, we took an old "cruiser" to the Bahamas...that was basically just a water bus for the trip there...and back.

Just a couple years ago, we did a "proper", week long cruise. I had a terrible time. In addition to what you mention...the food(??) did not agree with my guts. Nothing like a solid week of constantly feeling only seconds away from wreckin my pants. Back on land, no more gut issues...the following week, I had to be constantly moving, or I'd get "sea sick".

g I would like to respectfully ask do you ever try these brain storms you come up with.

Yeah, I've got a feeling like that sometimes, too - that's why I yearn to see some photos of T.B.'s builds!

Have a nice day

Paweł

Oh Boy ;

I look at the Cruise Ships ? in ads and finally I could not restrain myself . Here's the idea.

Get a model of the S.S. United States or the Queen Mary etc . Now get a " N" Scale group of six hotels and playground equipment .

Cut the liners down to the last row of portholes on the hull . Now cut glue and stretch the hotels till you've filled the whole ship with this blocky outfit .

Don't forget to create the space down the middle . Now , load the stern part with the slides and stuff from the playground equipment . A parody of a ship . You Bet !

You can add floors to the hotel area so it looks as ridiculous as these actual ships .

Don't forget to put the bridge deck three decks down from the top !
