This kit was originally the Zvezda "Black Swan".

Maybe they had plans for other iterations like galleys or?

Pirates the last thing they ever would do would be to sail around in a ship. A French or British sloop of war would have sunk them in an hour.

A whole horde of them wouldn't know how to handle a single cannon.

What they did do was to run out from shore in a longboat and board a ship close in shore, murder the crew, and take what they could back to land.
