Thank you very much for the post lurch.  Your question covers a lot of ground.  1-Yes, the planks go on one at a time.  2-you start at the bottom edge of the lower gun deck, becauce this is the widest part of the ship.  I will continue this later.  3-As for sugestions on what to start with---finde a large scale kit of a subject you like very much.  Most kits have solid bulked ribs with keels that go all the way up to the bottom of the deck.  If your subject has several gun decks--most kits will suply dummie gun barriols.  many kits give you flat decks.   O  I just notisted someone has disabled spell-check on this sight----so until that gets fixed---this is what you get.  To continue--I correct all of thies problems by: desining new ribs and keel-transfering them to 1/4" plywood-and cutting them out with a coping saw.  This allows me to add full gun deckes that slope from side to side as well as from front to back.  So that I can have full cannons with cairages.  This teckneek also makes the hull light enuf for it to be balested and floted.

good to here from you missileman2000.  The first hull plank is flush with the top edge of the lower gun deck.  Then I use a thin piece of plywood with a squair hole to mark the port.  Then scribe the pencil line with an exato knife, then use a small exato knife saw blade to cut them out.  Then trim them by eye with an exato knife.   Thanks for the post.  O--I'm working on the : lower battery lines--double planking the inside of the cannon ports, and assembling the cannons now.
