Hi!
Yeah! because of bad moldings there some Bluenoses out there that do NOT have the step in the deck. Some are pretty fair, but like you I chose wood. She sold as soon as my neighbor saw her done! And I hadn't really planned on selling her. The old saying is true though "Money Talks." Loudly! when you are only making 275 a week after taxes. Man, how'd we ever make through those times?
That's where the distractions come in! Building a wooden ship is like playing a symphony when you have the right kit. Very relaxing if you go slow, and it slows your heartbeat down too! Good luck and I'll bet she'll be just as beautiful as your other, "Distractions" ! I even built a Mississippi River Steamer one time out of cardboard(Not Cardstock now) but plain old cardboard. She was Bounty Paper Towels Scale!
That because I used their inside cardboard rolls for the stacks. She came out about seven foot long with Flat Toothpick Window Frames and Handrails of Flat and Round Toothpicks! She's probably not even around anymore!
