Mark, I have a question for you. When you are done with all that georgous PE work, is there something in the back of your brain that says "I'm not going to cover up all that beautiful brass with no stinkin paint?" I have never, nor will I ever be able to do that kind of work. Bow Down Bow Down Bow Down

Hi Surfsup!

Hey , I like what you have accomplished so far. NOTE: I was always taught that you should select a stand that at least Extends an Inch or More Past the model's most extreme ends. That assures no damage from anything placed to close. NOTE: Not a criticism. Everything is looking Good. Is that a pre-made shelf you are using for a base? Good Idea!

I have NOT seen those paints before, I wonder what their Brushability is like? Looks interesting!

The Build has slowed down some thanks to work but here we go again. The two main Colours are now on her Deck equipment and superstructures. First time using Life Colour Paints and am very impressed. Had to do a lot of Masking which is always fun. More to come .....Cheers Mark

For those keen on color reference for a Des Moines in post-war fit, USS Salem stars as Graf Spee in the 1956 movie, The Battle of the River Plate.

There's rather a lot seen of Salem in the movie.

And of the three Commonwealth ships in the action, too.

Thank you for all the detailed photos, I enjoyed zooming in on the details. Your PE and brass work is top shelf; this is going to be a beautiful model.

After some Holidays and 3 Weeks of Work nearly killing me with OT I can do some benchtime. I gloss coated the Hull to add the Decals and do some Weathering. The FRont Wooden Deck and aft P/E Cat Deck has now been added and awaiting some Colour. More for you soon.....Cheers Mark

Ooh!

Love the weathering for sure. Are you going to Semi Gloss after the build? She is looking great! The coloring in the crucial areas looks awesome!

Excellent job, love the weathering and the decking. It appears to be crazy thin and the apparent planking rendered is extremely narrow and realistic. Apologies if you've already mentioned this but did it come with the kit?

She coming along beautifully.

Okay!

Ya forced me ta do it. I am going to pull the trigger and get the thinnest wood deck for my 1945 fit U.S.S.Missouri! That cruiser looks awesome now! There are places on the ship where P.E. is used in place of the plastic.I have wanted an Accurate "MO" for so long I want her right! What brand deck wood did you use?
