I really can't say much...but there are good things coming very soon...in fact, your Christmas and Hannukah lists will more than likely reflect some of these things.

There's a new Liberty ship coming any day now, I guess no one is excited about that?

And for you NASCAR fans, there's a new model coming out of a car with a really neat Hood, and it'll be making it's debut at the North Carolina Speedway in late '04 early '05.

Rumor has it that it'll be a very nice 350 mile race...

:-)

I also am waiting for a NON RESIN offering of the USS North Carolina or Washington in 1/350. Most of us cant justify ( to our wives ) the cost of the resin kits.

I am the one wondering about the release of a 1/350th scale North Carolina. I would also like to see the others released as well in particular the Alabama.

I used to work for the Navy at the Bethesda Model Basin as a civilian in the Data Center. Whenever I had a chance when there were no secret test being done, I'd run down to the basement of the tank building and watch the master model builders at work. These guys build models for various museums, vips, etc. Their work is fantastic and all from scratch materials, mostly wood.

Since that time, I've always been hooked on big scale Battleships, outdated today to be sure, but in their day, they were the most powerful and expensive weapons platforms a country could build. Wonder how they'd do today with tactical nuclear shells instead of relying on cruise missles?

The only other subject I'm interested in is the Star Trek ships. Polar Lights is releasing a 1/350 scale USS Enterprise Refit. It will be 34 inches long with an 18 inch saucer width. What always awed me was that the Star Trek Enterprise is longer than a battleship with only a crew of 400 people compared to a battleship's 1200. You can see some pics of the new model mockup prototype here:

I think i'm going to trow myself out of the window. Its just too much for me.
I'm allready getting crazy about Trumpeter incoming carriers. Now a misteryous battleship?... bye.

Nope, i'm still here.

At 325 dollars, this resin kit is beyond my budget. I'll wait for the plastic kit. Glad to hear something is coming out soon. I can't wait.Dinner [dinner] Thanks for the link, I'm a fan of the Texas BB and did not know until now that it served as the flagship for the Commander in Chief between the World Wars until now.

I know this has been brought up before but has anyone any updates on whether or not any more 1/350 Battleships/Dreadnaughts gonna be released?

I want the Texas.....someone else on this forum wanted the N. Carolina I think. Are we gonna see anything new this year or should I just go back to modeling Sci-Fi ?SoapBox [soapbox]
