What is the most desired model

Sorry all i did not know that the carrier he served on was refitted out later with an angled flight deck, its this one hes after.
For myself an accurate PT-109 in 1/72 scale with cannon on which it had on the night it was rammed and sunk.

My most wanted would have to be the U.S.S. Coral Sea a carrier which a friend whos now married to an Aussie girl served on, its the only ship he,s not been able to find for years especially here in Australia.
He lives out herein Australia now and got me back to modelling after a 25 year lay off!!

A Tribal destroyer in a large scale (I know, dream on)!
Probably the best I can hope for is an "Anatomy of the Ship" book so I can roll my own.

Don't waste time or energy on mourning ICM. Another company has picked up the molds, so chances are we'll see the entire Konig Class again real soon.

Now, about HMS Hood...When ICM promised us a Hood, then Takao, and Scharnhorst...the entire world got excited. Big whup. Vapor ware, no Hood, No Takao, no Scharnhorst...only re-boxed versions of Konig.

Now Trumpeter on the other hand...has delivered on all of it's promises thus far...trust me...You will see a Trumpeter Hood in the very near future. And no, I do not have inside information (AHEM), it's just that the entire ship modeling community is crying for Hood...and it's a lead pipe cinch that Trumpeter will eventually do one. They are, after all, listening to folks like myself, as well as resin manufacturers and the ship modeling message boards.

Besides, I do have inside information on other subjects, and I KNOW you're all going to be very happy over the next few years!!!! I promise!

I have received an email from HANNANTS in the UK, they say that ICM have gone out of business!!. So no HOOD to look forward to.

I read this poll, and the others in armor, aircraft etc. etc. and I've participated in some, BUT do any of the manufacturers ever see or hear of what modelers are requesting? Think they care? You'd think some companies would produce famous (also read that as unique, cool etc.) ships (or whatever) of their own country someware in the mix. No tamya 1/350 Fuso, but a King George V? (yeah I know, it's great to have that model, but......) Ah, well.......... just random thoughts

In WW2 ,It has to be a 1/350 HOOD, Also a 1/350 Mogami -- cruiser/carrier -- , Apart from that,I too would like some Civil War ship's .

I think my favorites that I really want to see are all 1/700 scale:

Any modern Italian ships, in particular:

Guiseppe Garibaldi
Vittorio Veneto

Any and all Russian ships from the 60's and 70's, such as the Kresta, Kara, Kildin and Kotlin classes, and the Sverdlov big gun cruisers that they had. That would nicely fill out the modern offerings that Dragon/DML came out with a decade ago.

Also, I've been waiting with bated breath for a Kirov class battlecruiser in 1/700 scale, especially one that can be built in all four versions. Also, the Novorissisk needs to be representred as well, justlike her unmodded sisters Kiev and Minsk.

If I was to pick one, it would be an LCM(3), in 1/35 scale. (In plastic, not resin-- somehting that could be converted to RC.)

Mutsu or Nagato 1:350 plastic
Vittorio Veneto 1:350 plastic
and almost other battleship major classes
Maybe it happens this century.

A Bathurst class MSC in 1/72.
There were quite a few of them and they served in the RN, RAN, Netherlands Navy, Indonesian Navy, Red Chinese PLAN, as well as being converted to Civilian use.
The conversion posabilities are almost endless!

Are there any other Canadian ships out there besides the Snowberry. If so I'd like to build them. I'm not a "built it from an old log" type.

A couple of you guys mentioned Civil War ships. Once you have the C.S.S. Alabama (the Shark of the Confederacy), what else do you need and the Revell kit is not bad. As for my desire, The H.M.S. Hood in 1:350 tops my list. After that, a Nimitz class carrier in 1:350. We also need more ships of the 1950's and 60's. Post FRAM WWII vessels. This could probably be accomplished with conversion kits.

How about a nice YTB, YTM, or just about any US Navy Fleet Tug or Harbor Tug would be great. We have YTB 178 (USS Dekaury) here at Alameda. She is sister to USS Hoga, which played a vital firefighting role at Pearl Harbor. Old tugs are really funky and cool, especially Navy ones.

1/350th HMS hood for sure. And the WWII british carriers too. Eventually someone will get around to them. Of course we may have to wait until they run out of US, German, Japanese, and other countries subjects first. LOL!

And as I am Canadian, a HMCS Halifax in 1/72nd would be grand. A little on the large size, but still grand! LOL!

How about modern auxiliary vessels and amphibious support ships (other than the Tarawa and Wasp), and mine countermeasures vessels. Injection molded 700th scale Cimmarron would be nice, Ive always wanted to have a complete CVBG.

I think WW2 warships looks very majestic and awesome, especially Japanese ones.

I'm beginning my collection of them, starting with Yamato, Bismarck and Prince of Wales of the 1/350 Tamiya series. I just couldn't keep my eyes off the still shrink-wrapped boxes! Haven't started building!
Also just got 1/450 Akagi from Hasegawa.
Man! I'm gonna be broke buying all these majestic queens of tWW2!

Any recommendation for a solid reference of these warships?

A 1/350 scale WW II IJN Carrier. Doesn't matter which ship. I would love to have a carrier along side of the Yamato!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree with djmodels1999, it would be nice to see some larger Civi War models. Others that I would like are BB Maryland and CA Indianpolis in 1/350 scale.

My most wanted Shipmodel is the German (Bundesmarine) Destroyer "Hessen" on which i served for 3 Years.
1:350 would be cool but 1:700 is also ok.

Captain Nemo's Nautilus, at a decent price! Other than that, the HMS Bounty (a new kit please!), and the Graf Spee, at a larger scale. And some American Civil War ships too.

About Trumpeter i hope to see the continuation of 1:350 plastic ships, now they will realease CV Lexington, Saratoga, CVN Nimitz and i think one Russian modern carrier too, then i hope to see not only carriers.
About ICM, if it comes true about 1:350 Hood and Takao better for us, if not...
We will survive anyway.
