Just a bit of a hijack: Took a cruise to Cozumel on the Carnival M/S Inspiration last weekend. There was a three man crew that was refinishing the teak decks during our cruise. I ended up spending quite a bit of time watching them as I did my early morning tours of the ship, coffee in hand. One crewman (obviously the boss) had what looked like a four-foot long heated caulking gun that forced new black caulking between the planks. When applied, the caulking spread out about 1" on either side of the joint. After it had cooled/cured for a while, another crewman followed along with a powered sander (looked like a souped-up floor polisher) that removed the excess caulking and re-surfaced the planks at the same time. After he was finished the deck went from a faded medium gray to a medium tan with sharp black joint lines. Tried to strike up a conversation with the guys, but they were Italian and didn't speak much English, or pretended not to in order to get rid of nosey passengers. When I got tired of watching them then I would wander over and watch the guys doing maintenance of the lifeboats... Mark
